The North East Baby & Toddler Show

Added: 27th April 2014

Independent Events started The North East Baby & Toddler Show in March 2013 with the debut event taking place at Newcastle Falcons, Kingston Park Stadium.  Sponsored by Costco and Kids 1st Nurseries with The Sick Children's Trust in place as charity partners and Raring2Go as media partners, the show acted as a platform for showcasing baby and toddler products/services from around the region and the country, with the first 500 people who booked their tickets online receiving a free goodybag with items from the likes of Tommee Tippee, Costco and Nuby.

The debut event welcomed 78 exhibitors which included national brands like John Lewis, Halfords, Jojo Maman Bebe and Costco as well as some great local businesses such as The NE Sling Library, Waterbabies and Breastvest.  There were a number of activities throughout the day including a meet and greet by IgglePiggle, the first baby face competition, soft play area, creche, fashion show, live demos of various services and products and much more for the crowds to get involved with.  The debut event was a huge success with over 1500 visitors in attendance and 2000 Facebook fans by the time it was over.

2014 saw the show make a welcomed return but this time to the larger Gateshead International Stadium, a more accessible and popular location for families around the North East offering free parking, wider exhibition spaces and an enhanced PA system among various other improvements.  Over 80 exhibitors turned out for the 2014 show with support coming in the form of Kids 1st Nurseries and Costco wholesale as sponsors, Raring2Go as media partners, The Sick Children's Trust as charity sponsors and even more support coming from Mill Volvo.  Over 1800 visitors were in attendance for the second show demonstrating a huge 20% increase in sales on the 2013 event, showing the growth of this event year on year.

Visitor feedback on the day of each event and on social media was very positive with lots of comments about the range of activities and products exhibited.  Exhibitors tended to note that the show acts not only as a brilliant sales opportunity to a highly captive audience but also an excellent networking opportunity, connecting them to others in the same area of expertise as themselves they might not have had the chance to meet otherwise.  On a whole The North East Baby & Toddler Show continues to grow as it goes in to its third year which sees a return to Gateshead International Stadium and a return of Kids 1st Nurseries as event sponsor.
