IE News Updater

Added: 6th May 2014

After a fantastic start to the year we’ve had we thought it would be a great idea to produce the IE News Updater!

What better way to kick start March than to put a call out to recruit new staff within the north east region for our core brand ambassador team for 2014 and call a North East Staff casting! We put out our feelers via our usual social media platforms, recommendations from current IE team members and trawled our database for staff that had been pre-registered but not approved yet, encouraging them all along to meet us for a coffee and catch up.

Although our meetings tend to be quite informal we feel it is so important to meet potential staff face to face, have a chat and try to gain insight into their personality, work ethic and problem solving capabilities.  We were so impressed by the calibre of staff attending and really feel we have found a good few hidden gems all of whom bring their own style of management, skills and injection of personality to the already strong core team.

We were all on a high after the success of the casting which was set to get a whole lot higher later in the week when we were we supply a team of brand ambassador drivers for on-line fashion retailer boohoo.com.  The team were required to drive the fully branded boohoo.com car around London’s busy Canary Wharf and the city of London flashing gorgeous grins at all passing and really drawing attention to the already bright and cheery bubblegum pink Fiat 500’s.

This experiential experience in raising brand awareness went down a storm with plenty of hoots and peeps from fellow drivers as well as whistles and whoops from people taking in the sights with a queue of people waiting for a photo opportunity with the cars and the branded double decker bus causing a social media storm across Twitter and Instagram. Overall a hugely successful event with one happy client and a team of promotional staff delighted to have taken part!

Next stop was new client Metro, with a 3 strong team of Station Guards brand ambassadors and one fully branded barrissta coffee cart!

We were asked to attend local SME’s across the Metro network region taking with us the team of BA’s dressed as Station Guards employed to spread the word about the Metro Corporate Pass Scheme and encourage employees to take advantage of the fantastic savings available to them if they signed up.

The response was amazing with lots of lovely coffees and speciality tea’s given out along with leaflets and feedback forms encouraging sign ups and a fanatics content generator across Twitter and Facebook. I’m sure they will see a sore in uptake and a lots of new faces on board the Metro soon.

March also saw the last of our Road Respect roadshows campaign 2013-2014 come to an end with Newcastle and Sunderland the final venues on our tour.  As usual we had an amazing response from the public and we’d like to give thanks to all of those who supported the campaign throughout the year, took part in our Young Driver of the Year competition and those who took away our lovely t-shirts many of which were spotted around the cities and I have to say looked rather fetching! The campaign kicks off again this month!

Well that’s all for now folks keep up to date with what we’re up to at www.independent-events.com
